AECOM , Architect and Masterplanning Practice Leader
Jonathan is an architect and Masterplanning Practice Leader at AECOM in London. Notable ongoing major urban development masterplans include for the University of Cambridge at North West & West Cambridge, at Old Oak Common in London for the OPDC and for Lendlease, the competition winning regeneration masterplan at Milan Expo. His work in these and other sensitive contexts such as at Hackney Wick and Brixton Central in London and for the Universities of Glasgow, Sussex and Singapore are distinguished by partnership and collaboration with others.
Jonathan has over 25 years’ experience working successfully with public and private sector clients on complex major urban projects, from inception through design and planning to realisation. His practice combines an inter-disciplinary, often multi-practice approach to Masterplan design, resolving complex design and technical challenges from the deeply held view that social and environmental drivers are at the root of long term value creation and sustainable development.
The North West Cambridge Masterplan has so far integrated the work of fourteen architects, each contributing to the creation of a coherent new urban centre of outstanding quality at Eddington in Cambridge. The project won AJ Masterplan of the Year last year and sets a very high standard for the provision of mixed use, affordable housing in an urban setting, structured by new public spaces and landscapes.
